Kapensis Guesthouse – Surrounded by Nature | Pringle Bay, South Africa

Pringle Bay is a small coastal town in the Overberg region, only 85kim form Cape Town, between Betty’s Bay and Gordon’s Bay in South Africa. The village is never crowded and its a perfect getaway for those who wants to relax close to the nature. The area offers beautiful lagoon, and mountain views, clean air, many creative places and restaurants.

Kapensis Guest House is located on a fynbos farm, surrounded by indigenous fynbos, mountains and distant ocean views on the outskirts of Pringle Bay.

Kapensis Guest House, now under new ownership, has been changed and upgraded. Their pride and love for this little gem shines through. We as guests get to share that.

Katharina, the Owner, welcomed us and explained the facilities and all on offer.

Protea Corner Room (Best View)

Our spacious “Protea” room (one of 8) was comfortable and well- appointed. The facilities on offer include TV & DVD, Writing desk, Mini Bar and Coffee & Tea, plenty cupboard space, as well as safe, hairdryer. wireless internet and under-floor heating too. The extra large bed, yet snug, was a treat.

We adored our open-plan bathroom with rain-shower, bath, double basin and separate toilet. Small touches included exquisite amenities, plush towels and quotes on the wall.

Loved Glass Basin

Nice touch!

This corner room’s terrace has an uninterrupted view over Pringle Bay. Tranquility at its best.

Amazing View from our Patio

As if that is not enough, different dining (lunch and dinner) options are on offer too. Kapensis Guest House healthy breakfast is included in your stay. This constitutes of a combination of fresh quality local produce – exceptionally cooked by the staff.

Their mouth-watering sea food linguine is fantastic – we manage to get the recipe and it has become a firm favorite.

Their wines are locally sourced from Wildekrans Wine Estate in Botriver.  A selection of cocktails, spirits, beers, ciders and soft drinks are on offer.

The Dining area can accommodate up to 20 people – perfect for small functions.

Their pool area is spectacular, spacious and overlooks the mountain and endless fynbos fields. Comfortable loungers, sun umbrellas and pool towels are provided for guests. We spend the afternoon enjoying the sunshine and indulging in the peacefulness of this space.

The area can be windy at times but in the afternoons, it usually subsides.

There are various spots to relax, unwind, read and enjoy some fresh air, if swimming is not your thing.

Kapensis Guest House is the perfect destination for nature lovers, abundance of bird and plant life and mountains on offer. There are various walking routes and hiking trails in the area. It is a photographer’s heaven.

There are many other activities in the vicinity and can be arranged upon request:

  • Stony Point – land based Penguin Colony
  • Hiking in The Kogelberg Biosphere
  • Harold Porter Botanical Garden
  • Biking trails in the area – on and off road.

There is something for everyone, regardless of age.

We enjoyed sun-downers with the Owner by the pool. She is passionate about giving guests the best possible service.

We only spend one night here, yet I can’t remember when last I had such a good night’s sleep. Then to wake up to this awe-inspiring view, that’s special. Coffee on a patio is a must.
