#TravelChatSA Experiences: An exclusive fine dining restaurant boat experience at The Alba Restaurant.
Recent #TravelChatSA Experiences were hosted by The Alba restaurant – the first of its kind in Cape Town, an exclusive fine dining, floating restaurant experience.
This 72 seater restaurant operates in the harbour exclusively and provides top quality service and cuisine. The Alba is 22m in length with a 6m beam offering daily tours and unforgettable dishes, designed to delight the senses and #TravelChatSA Experiences Guests had a chance to enjoy it.

We were welcomed with a glass of bubbles on arrival and enjoyed amazing views of the Waterfront and Table Mountain.
Stunning weather was a bonus and we enjoyed autumn sun throughout the experience. Alba Restaurant is “designed to be stable and smooth in the water, with floor to ceiling glass windows, ensuring a comfortable dining experience with great views regardless of the weather.”*
Our lovely menu for the day was:
With a berry reduction, figs, honey & spiced
Karoo Springbok Carpaccio
Springbok carpaccio encrusted with rosemary, thyme &
peppercorns with mixed baby greens, shaved Grana
Padano, red onion & vine ripened tomatoes drizzled
with extra virgin olive oil & a balsamic cream.
Citrus Cured Salmon
With a beetroot puree & baby greens.
Beef Fillet Medallions
Served with a mixed berry & roasted bone marrow jus,
truffled mashed potato, grilled beetroot & mange-tout.
Oven Baked Citrus Seabass
With coriander & chilli, wrapped in a banana leaf on a
bed of ratatouille accompanied by a cauliflower puree.
Braised Springbok Shank
Slow roasted in mixed berry juice, accompanied by
potato mash, caramelised onion & red cabbage.
Dark Chocolate Mousse
Topped with orange zest.
Milk Chocolate Truffles
Rolled in pistachio with a touch of chilli.
This floating restaurant offers also Vegetarian/Vegan option on request as well as is Halaal friendly.

A lunch at the Alba Boat Restaurant is wonderful way to experience some of South Africa’s finest cuisine whilst being surrounded by beautiful harbour views. Located at the popular V & A Waterfront, we enjoyed sumptuous delights all readily plated and freshly prepared on board while enjoying the gentle ebb and flow of the bay’s water beneath.
