Past week we talked about Mountain Passes and Resorts in South Africa. Enjoy the below list of mountain passes suggested by our participants:
Swartberg Pass: The Swartberg Pass on the R328 run through the Swartberg mountain range which runs roughly east-west along the northern edge of the semi-arid area called the Little Karoo in the Western Cape province of South Africa.*
A1 Swartberg Pass is one of my favourites. For a drive over or a hike through. We did a glorious 2 day hike up in the pass many moons ago. Beautiful! (My sister & friend from Italy on pic.) #TravelChatSA pic.twitter.com/nprK1DPfII

Gydo Pass: Coordinates Gydo Pass is situated in the Western Cape, province of South Africa on the Regional road R303 (Western Cape) between Ceres and Citrusdal. Be Aware. Driving Skill level: last stretch towards Citrusdal requires advanced driving skills. *
Bainskloof Pass: Bainskloof Pass (Afrikaans: Bainskloofpas) is a mountain pass on the R301 regional road between Wellington and Ceres in the Western Cape province of South Africa.*
Leliefontein Pass: This short, steep pass is located 7 km north-west of Leliefontein and 14 km ESE of Kamieskroon on a minor gravel road.**

Hela Hela Pass: Hela Hela Pass, also known as Helehele Pass, is situated in the KwaZulu-Natal province of South Africa, on the road between Richmond and Donnybrook Route. *
Oliviershoek Pass: The Oliviershoek Pass, on the R74 from Bergville, is often used as an alternative route to Van Reenen’s Pass… Much of the Oliviershoek Pass, sometimes spelt Oliviers Hoek Pass, overlooks the Northern Drakensberg, as it sweeps upward. Those in the know use this, the Amphitheatre, and the Sterkfontein dam combined into a wonderful scenic drive. Officially, the pass straddles the border between KwaZulu-Natal and the Free State and begins its climb just south of the Sterkfontein Dam Nature Reserve.***

But the Outeniqua, Rooiberg, Swartberg Mountians etc send their love. 80% of the roads in the Garden Route and Klein Karoo is still Gravel!! Some of the most famous passes in SA. pic.twitter.com/woJLWsbUT7
