Our First stop was Merindol Manor.
Merindol Manor is one of the oldest houses in the Valley.
The house was largely renovated by the previous owner. The gardens which are extremely beautiful were created by a local nursery.*
There are olive and fruit trees and they grow own vegetables. On offer delicious homemade produce for their guest that includes yoghurt, pancakes and French toast.

“I recently visited the delightful Merindol Manor in Riebeeck Kasteel for a short stop over and breakfast, but wished I could check in and stay for days! Wonderful warm welcome by charming Belgian owners, Vincent & Nath, who served the most delicious Continental breakfast spread imaginable. I had double helpings of the rice pudding (yes – pudding for breakfast) and feasted on delicious pastries with freshly brewed coffee. The rooms are spacious and comfortable with décor elements combining old world country charm with quirky African and wine related themes. The copper free-standing bath is simply divine. I’m hoping to return soon and sit on the patio sipping wine while overlooking the lush garden with central water fountain and fragrant lavender hedges and lemon trees. “

“Merindol Manor is old world charm accommodation situated in the heart of Riebeeck West. The house is one of the oldest in the Riebeeck Valley and has been tastefully decorated into luxury guesthouse accommodation. Each room is beautifully spacious with picture-perfect bathrooms to compliment them. For breakfast you can look forward to homemade bread, granola and choc-chip cookies. If you’re lucky, you might be served the owner’s delicious rice pudding! Another one of the of the stunning property’s assets is their immaculate garden; a walk through it is the ideal way to release any stresses you may have brought along.”

“The drive from Cape Town to Riebeek Kasteel took approximately one hour. We had two stops planned for the day, the first stop was at Merindol Manor house, one of the oldest houses in the valley. A 4-star luxury guesthouse with a large garden surrounds the property. Shortly after arriving, we were given a tour of the guesthouse and immediately felt at home.
The guesthouse has 5 rooms in total and one manor house. Each room is decorated differently but a common warm theme runs throughout. The garden was renovated by the local nursery, an extremely beautiful landscape that blends in with nature and overlooks Riebeek Kasteel.”

“Merindol Manor is your home away from home in the Riebeek Valley – your luxury home, that is. This beautifully restored guest house is run by a Belgian couple who have made this corner of South Africa their home. We experienced Nath and Vincent’s warm hospitality through a buffet brunch full of home made Belgian treats and good coffee. The house is set on beautifully landscaped grounds and their very own chickens provide the eggs for their guests’ breakfasts. It’s a lovely guest house run by a lovely family!”
