Whether you are looking at an adventurous break away this winter or to relax away from the busy city life White Bridge Farm will be your perfect destination of choice to simply enjoy and soak in the natural surroundings. It is located on a working fruit farm; roughly 90-minute drive from Cape Town; an ideal getaway for couples and families alike.

A bouquet of accommodation is on offer situated on the banks of the Breede River. The self-catering cottage, river cabins and river cottage are all nestled amongst the orchards adjacent to the river on White Bridge Farm. Nature provides breathtaking mountain and orchard views. The farm produces a variety of fruit for the export market – world-class pears, plums, nectarines and vegetables.

We arrived on a sunny winter’s day and in a matter, of seconds fell in love with White Bridge Farm. We stayed in Dixons View, a lovely open plan cabin that could sleep between 2-4 people. These two open-plan design river cabins sleep 4 people each.

Our cabin was spacious and well-appointed. The kitchen was equipped with a fridge, microwave, two-plate stove and all the little extras that a kitchen requires. Bathroom amenities and towels were provided too; all needs thoughtfully catered for. Our cabin overlooked a river and was hidden between the trees, providing a bit of shade in the afternoon. This is a perfect spot to relax with a glass of wine on a summer’s afternoon. The cosy fireplace and outside braai facilities cater for those winter getaways. This simply ensures an oasis, no matter the season.
The cabins are constructed from natural resources such as timber, stone and bamboo; lending to it an enchanted feel.

There is plenty to do in the area. A drive to a close-by Wolseley, Tulbagh or Ceres presents plenty of restaurants, outdoor activities to partake, or to explore nearby attractions.
We enjoyed the rock hopping on the river. NOTE: after recent rains, the river might be overflowing. We do suggest that this should be taken into consideration this time of year. There are fantastic walks on the farm and hiking trails in the surrounding mountains. Bird watching and fishing are a treat; assuring the adoration of outdoor and nature lovers. If you fancy a bit of tennis, the tennis court at the owner’s house is for you.
The newly constructed and highly sought after wedding and function venue, the “Olive Rock” with stunning mountain views is situated on the banks of the river. The professional Chef Nick, is a homegrown talent, who trained in Cape Town and gained invaluable experience in London. He and his equally talented wife Simone, a photographer, will render that special ingredient on the big day.
White Bridge Farm has it all, as they say, love without a reason and bloom without season, this they do without a doubt. Visit them and reconnect with what is important in life.
